Well that article does purport that image. But British investment overseas is major. Have a look at the second link I posted. British exports to the middle east is much larger than what we import from them. We have a massive trade link with the US. In total we export over 400 billion a year. What many don't realise is that we license a lot of products rather than manufacture them. Take ARM for instance. A chip used in most mobile phones. We may not manufacture the product but we make loads licensing it out.
This is a great country. Glad the Conservatives are in power. Looks to me they will get middle eastern investment into our banks. They just need to convince them we have the right environment to do business. That means having sound regulation who have the power to penalise the banks for misbehaviour. All a bit of tosh but if it get's the investment in, that's what we need.
