Tep, anything that moves RBS away from HMG control will be a huge positive... As most major banks seem to have had a finger in the LIBOR and Euribor debacles then the punitive measures can't be to harsh or it could cause the banking and therefore economic crisis to worsen, also as you say any legal action will be lengthy and difficult to prove what damages were caused by understating LIBOR and by what degree... was it illegal or just not within the approved guidelines... I sure that some who have lost large amounts would rather of taken a punch from Mr T! But there's also money to be made in the current SP boxing ring!
