As it happens I had my favourite brown shoes repaired last week, cost £16, a far better option in all respects than buying new. So pleased am I that I have since sorted out a couple of other pairs very thin in the soles and will have them repaired soon. I think we've all bought new very easily but now we have hit times when much of what we do deserves to be questioned or at least reconsidered. Not least meat. The horse meat nonsense seems to have filled up the independent butchers shops. Item on 'Breakfast' this morning notes that the fund provided by Govt for the regeneration of High St shops is largely untouched. This will put greater pressure on this matter which I would think will encourage lower rents and rates. I guess everyone, public shoppers, small shopkeepers, larger businesses, plcs, are all reviewing prices. Some for survival, others to reposition ahead of better times. Fairness will gradually overtake greed. We will all be the better for this in a few years.
