Unfortunately some of the people sitting behind a counter earning under 20k have more banking and accountancy qualifications than the people who are "running" things from the top and are earning in the millions per annum.
The problem with today's society is although success is rewarded, failure is equally rewarded, take Mr Hornby who presided over the HBOS debacle, he walked away with his multi million pound bonuses and straight in to the top job at boots while all the poor front liners were left to pick up the pieces. Old Fred didn't exactly do too badly either, but both of them would probably have been looking at 30 years if this was the US.
Whether it's a sportsman or a top exec, anyone who earns the equivalent of the national lottery roll-over each year is far too highly paid in my book.
