Talking to a few people at the weekend ...4 stated to different degrees how the Internet is killing their businesses and my well close their shops in a few years.... Maybe it's time to reavaluate to the future of the Internet and how big it's impact it will have on the high street in 10 years time... For every shop closure it means an Internet or supermarket gain... Shopping malls may well also feel the crunch of lower sales in a few years....all fuelled by cheaper Internet sales and home food deliveries as the uk shopping culture slowly changes... To computers and a few clicks...
If the recent reported on tv of a 25 thousand plus shops could be lost to closure by 2025 .... If the possible Internet sales growth of 50% from today's levels by 2020... The high street will be a different array of shops as running costs still rise annually with lower footfall through the door.... Even market traders are closing in great yarmouth and the remaining stalls have pay more to cover the short fall of council revenue... Creating more struggle to the remain traders.
Money so short for many families that the writting is on the wall for many businesses in the the next 10 years... There will be a very unlikely consumer lead recovery as more each month are going onto some benefit.... As living costs outstrip wage any increases to the majority.... And the growth in many forced into taking a pt job gives no spare cash .... Like a reasonable ft job ...it's only a stop gap for so long... The uk cannot grow on the backs of the growing amount of low paid part time workers.
Strange how the uk is bleeding with debt and yet how many are allowed to avoid paying full tax and businesses alike are also allowed to avoid paying legal revenue demands.... And why still some are earning 500k plus while the majority struggle on less than 23k, maybe it's only time before the lower paid make their feelings known if jobs are not forthcoming in the next few years... You cannot have so many under paid ...while more and more are being grossly overpaid paying lower taxes and leaving the tax burdon to the middle classes to pay most of it...
The moral fibre of the UK is now out of wack regarding who is made to pay what to contribute to running this country
Maybe this post hits a few raw nerves but reality is staring many in the face ... And things are not getting that better in the uk ... Maybe levelling off at a lower standard of living to what many are struggling to cope with.. And house prices must drop another 25 % for many to even contemplate buying.... As how many are going to get a 25% wage increase in the next 3 years to balance house prices out...
Rant over have a good day and rest of this week... GLA
